Seattle Wedding Photographer - Cory Parris

About Cory Parris Photography

I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Seattle. I create emotional photostories. I love photography. I love all the technical aspects of f-stops, shutter speeds, megapixels, photoshop, and lighting. I love the art of photography in the composition, angles, bokeh, point of view, and the way the technical changes the art. More than even the art, I love the expressions and emotions that people portray in their face, body language, and hand positions. Along the way, I have met a lot of great people, gotten to photograph some pretty cool things, and had a lot of fun. I am very happy to have chosen a career in photography. I also have an amazing wife, Leslie, and three fantastic children. Life is good. Have any questions? Call me - 425.637.8852

3 kids…

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

I’ve been photographing this family for the last 7 or 8 years.  It amazes me each time I see them how fast they grow!  For each of the kids, I am posting one cute image and one of them goofing off.  Kids like to do that!

I love the expressions on this one.  Little Claire loves to stick out her tongue.

No shortage of personality in this child!

I asked her if she thought she was funny or if she knew she was funny.  Of course, she said she knew it!

After he fell on off the chair and onto his rump, I took this image.  I always laugh after I fall off my chair, too!

Aidan, being the oldest, got off a great image on the first click.  Just trying to show up the others, I guess!

Not too old to have fun, though!

Andrew & Valeries Engagement Album!

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

We did Andrew and Valerie’s engagement portraits last fall on top of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle.  This is the album we made out of the session.  The blank space is for guests to sign the book.  It will be a 6×9 european leather book with pages created with photographic prints that are mounted onto board, textured and coated.  Truly a beautiful piece of craftsmanship!  You can see all the page designs here.

This is the opening spread.  The book is 6×9, so this spread opens to 12×9.

Sarrah + Tim – the thank you note!

Sarrah and Tim had an amazing wedding in Priest Lake Idaho at Hill’s Resort.  Here is their reaction to their photographs!

Hi Cory,

Thank you so much!!  You are amazing!  Tim and I love the pictures :)  I knew the moment I came across your website I just had to have you photograph our wedding.  I asked you not thinking you would actually say yes, but knowing that I would never forgive myself if I didn’t at least try.  To my surprise you said you were available and willing to travel and we are very grateful for that!  Our family and friends kept talking about how many pictures you took at the wedding and now they are talking about how awesome they are!  I am so impressed that you were able to capture every detail and photograph everyone of our guests.  I think you even made Tim believe that he can be photogenic!

Thank you again,
Sarrah & Tim

Firefighters and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society…

Friday, June 8th, 2007

In March I photographed the Scott’s Firefighter Stairclimb.  This is a wonderful event where firefighters from around the country and the world climb the 76 story Columbia Tower in full gear.  The event proceeds go the the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  It is a truly wonderful cause and a great event to photograph.  Here is a letter I received from one firefighter yesterday.

Hello Cory,
I just wanted to drop you an email and say thank you for the picture I
received in the mail last week.  I am sure you took many photos on the tower
climb this year and I just want to say thank you for the photo where you
caught Ben and I shaking hands.  I was surprised to see the photo was being
used in the awards ceremony especially because I had no idea the picture was
even taken.  I hope that the efforts of the many firefighters and yourself
on this event that we will help those like Ben and the many other
individuals effected by these awful blood related cancers.  I want you to
know that I am very grateful for your donation of this photo and your
contribution to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The photo is proudly
displayed in my office.

Thank you,

Scott Fitzpatrick

Sarrah + Tim

Sarrah and Tim were a great couple that brought me to their Idaho wedding!  Hill’s Resort at Priest Lake is a beautiful place.  My family and I drove over and stayed in an adorable little cabin for a couple nights and photographed the wedding.  Thanks to Sarrah and Tim!

The beautiful beach view.  Priest Lake is surrounded on all sides by mountains and trees.  It also has a beautiful sandy beach.

I love the way the flower girls were playing in the sand throughout the wedding.  Here Tim and Sarrah stepped around them so they could get married!

As part of the ceremony, each member of the wedding party made a wish for the couple and threw a rock into the lake.
