Halloween
This image of my kids just seemed so creepy to me. Like it should be the cover of a horror movie. Anyway, that’s what I saw in it!

I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Seattle. I create emotional photostories.
I love photography. I love all the technical aspects of f-stops, shutter speeds, megapixels, photoshop, and lighting. I love the art of photography in the composition, angles, bokeh, point of view, and the way the technical changes the art. More than even the art, I love the expressions and emotions that people portray in their face, body language, and hand positions. Along the way, I’ve met a lot of great people, gotten to photograph some pretty cool things, and had a lot of fun. I am very happy to have chosen a career in photography. I also have an amazing wife, Leslie, and three fantastic children. Life is good. You can also find recent posts about me below on my blog, on my portfolio site, or look me up on facebook. |

Jackie and Andrew were a great couple. My buddy John Chin came with me and we had a great time photographing the wedding. It was fun seeing many people that I knew from previous weddings! You can see their slideshow here.
Ceremony: Bastyr University Chapel
Reception: The Bellevue Club
Flowers: Garden Gate Floral

I rarely post group photographs, but I like this one with the wedding party laughing, the amazing sky and light that spotlights the couple.

For the photographers out there, this is taken with completely available light. 1/20 at f1.4 at 1600. The camera compensated for yellow-green color from the flourescent light in the nearby post and that resulted in the cool colors in the background. This is basically straight out of the camera and is not a photoshop effect.

Always trying to catch some of the background story of the day and making it interesting.

The outside of the gorgeous Bellevue Club.

The best man got the Chicken Pox. He was then quarantined from infecting the rest of the wedding party, family and guests. Therefore, he wrote the speech and another groomsman presented it. The poor best man then had to listen to his own speech over the phone.

The groom’s father getting a little help during the toasts.

This is Erin. She and her husband Adam were married two years ago and I was honored to be her wedding photographer. She was the ring-bearer’s companion during the wedding ceremony.
My family and I travelled to Leavenworth to create the engagment portraits of Rut and Willvin. The park there was absolutely magnificent. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever photographed. Rut also surprised me by wearing a wedding dress!

I recently met Felice and Colman at the Park on the Lid on Mercer Island for some engagement portraits. I drove down from Bothell and they flew up from LA and we met in the middle. :) We had a great time at the park and then at a private home. You can see the slideshow here. The song on the slideshow was written by Felice!

I just received a note from Janine from her wedding at Newcastle!
