Happy Thanksgiving!
I bbq’d some turkey and we watched Elf with the family. Fun times! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day.

I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Seattle. I create emotional photostories.
I love photography. I love all the technical aspects of f-stops, shutter speeds, megapixels, photoshop, and lighting. I love the art of photography in the composition, angles, bokeh, point of view, and the way the technical changes the art. More than even the art, I love the expressions and emotions that people portray in their face, body language, and hand positions. Along the way, I’ve met a lot of great people, gotten to photograph some pretty cool things, and had a lot of fun. I am very happy to have chosen a career in photography. I also have an amazing wife, Leslie, and three fantastic children. Life is good. You can also find recent posts about me below on my blog, on my portfolio site, or look me up on facebook. |

I had a great time with Lindsey and Jason. It stopped raining for a couple hours, so at the last minute we decided to keep the time we had slotted. The weather was a bit dark, grey and had 20 mile per hour wind gusts. What a great day for portraits! Actually, the sky was incredibly clear after the rain and it felt like a bit of an adventure even though we were just doing portrait photography in downtown Seattle!

So I loved this image so much that I didn’t want to wait until I was done editing the entire session to post it!

These folks are people we know. Therefore, I took my incredible 12-year-old daughter along with me for the first time at a live shoot. I gave her a camera, set it and let her go. One of her images made the cut and is one of the 14 below. Make a comment, correctly guess her photo below. If you are the first one to guess correctly, I’ll send you a 11×14 of Seattle at night that I posted a couple days ago! One guess per person, please!

So around the Parris household, we are what can be best described as holiday freaks. We put up our Christmas tree Saturday. Yes, we do know it is 5 days before Thanksgiving! This photograph of the tree was taken by my amazingly talented 12-year-old daughter!
