I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Seattle. I create emotional photostories.
I love photography. I love all the technical aspects of f-stops, shutter speeds, megapixels, photoshop, and lighting. I love the art of photography in the composition, angles, bokeh, point of view, and the way the technical changes the art. More than even the art, I love the expressions and emotions that people portray in their face, body language, and hand positions. Along the way, I’ve met a lot of great people, gotten to photograph some pretty cool things, and had a lot of fun. I am very happy to have chosen a career in photography.
I also have an amazing wife, Leslie, and three fantastic children. Life is good.

I recently took Ali & Cam’s engagement portraits at the UW (University of Washington for those reading from odd places outside of the great Pacific Northwest). I had a great time with them, Cam’s mom and their little dog. Here is a set of some of my favorites. I can’t wait until their wedding!

Cute little guy!

A doggy kiss

Ali & Cam laughing together

Ali jumping into Cams arms

Too much beauty. We had to go to the parking garage!

You can write your own caption for this image!

I liked this as a series, so I posted them all together!
Here is one more from Krissy & Chris’ wedding at The Palace Ballroom. This is the wedding party taken in a parking lot behind The Palace Ballroom.

I photographed Krissy and Chris’ wedding at The Palace Ballroom this weekend. Here is one image I took of Krissy in an alley behind the W Hotel where they got ready.

I went to Krissy & Chris’ home in Seattle to take their engagement portraits. They were a lot of fun to hang out with and photograph. We started the session in their home with a white background for a few classic black and white images then took a walk around their neighborhood.

Here is the fabulous Chris

Here is the wonderful couple.

And the fabulous Krissy

Playing with sunflare again! This is real, from the camera. :)

This was one of my favorite images of the day. I love Krissy's expression and the colors in the background.

I think this is their favorite image of the day.

This image as taken in a little grove of trees by having them stand on a rickety old picnic table and me laying on the ground!
Here is the whole set of Annie & Ryan’s engagement portraits in the downtown Bellevue area. Annie and Ryan were a lot of fun to photograph. They are very happy together and up for whatever I had in mind - including laying down on the ground in a parking lot! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next month!

This image was taken at the top of the Bellevue Square parking garage.

I liked this image. The texture comes from shooting through a chain link fence.

This was my favorite image of Ryan that I took that day. I like the lines of the fence, posts, and his shoulders.

Right in the middle of Bellevue, there is a Safeway that is going to be demolished soon. Perfect spot for a portrait!
