I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Seattle. I create emotional photostories.
I love photography. I love all the technical aspects of f-stops, shutter speeds, megapixels, photoshop, and lighting. I love the art of photography in the composition, angles, bokeh, point of view, and the way the technical changes the art. More than even the art, I love the expressions and emotions that people portray in their face, body language, and hand positions. Along the way, I’ve met a lot of great people, gotten to photograph some pretty cool things, and had a lot of fun. I am very happy to have chosen a career in photography.
I also have an amazing wife, Leslie, and three fantastic children. Life is good.

For my son’s birthday, we bought him tickets to the MLS Cup (that’s like the American soccer Superbowl for the non-soccer fans out there). One of his favorite moments from the whole day was meeting and getting his photograph taken with his idol and fellow goalkeeper Kasey Keller. Very happy little man!

PS - This was obviously taken with my point and shoot camera, which doubles as my video camera - Panasonic FZ28 if you want to know what I use for a knock-around camera.
Internationally Award Winning Wedding Photographer. Sounds good, right? I like it!
I took 17th overall in the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers image contest. I was very happy with that considering I only entered five images! Below are the three that placed.

I love this image of Chinda & Cam's wedding when the little best man stomped off!

This image of Julia & Egor was taken in a field in Leavenworth. It took 10th Place for Framing the Subject.

This image of Ali was taken this summer in her suite at the Bellevue Club. It took 12th place in the Wedding Dress category.
Teresa and Peter had their wedding at the beautiful chapel at Bastyr University. It is one of my favorite chapel/churches in the entire Seattle area. I was only with them for a few hours of their wedding day. I covered a little of the getting ready, the ceremony and an extended wedding day portrait session. Very fun. It also allowed me some extra time to play with lighting indoors since it was cold and raining outside!

I love the unique design of the chapel at Bastyr. The wide aisle makes for some cool, dramatic images

We braved the rain and colf for a few images out in the woods.

I love getting new and different opportunities to create images that are outside of what I normally do. This is the second time that I’ve gotten to do a portrait session for American Motorcyclist, which is the magazine of the American Motorcyclist Association. Tom Mehran is a local guy that runs a couple of online publications including Sound Rider that contributed an article for the magazine. I was very happy with what we came up with. I met Tom down at Golden Gardens a little before sunset, set up some lights (I love my radiopoppers!), and created some dramatic sunset portraits. Very fun!

This was my favorite image from the session!

This is my new little niece Izzy. Cute, right?
