I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Seattle. I create emotional photostories.
I love photography. I love all the technical aspects of f-stops, shutter speeds, megapixels, photoshop, and lighting. I love the art of photography in the composition, angles, bokeh, point of view, and the way the technical changes the art. More than even the art, I love the expressions and emotions that people portray in their face, body language, and hand positions. Along the way, I’ve met a lot of great people, gotten to photograph some pretty cool things, and had a lot of fun. I am very happy to have chosen a career in photography. I also have an amazing wife, Leslie, and three fantastic children. Life is good. You can also find recent posts about me below on my blog, on my portfolio site, or look me up on facebook. |

Saw this beautiful purple seastar on the Edmonds beach today. The tide was very low.

I received my copies of American Motorcyclist. Here is how they used the images I took for them. Very cool. Don’t worry mom, I’m sending you a copy!

The American Motorcycle Association hired me to do some portraits of Jim and his friend Toby with their motorcycles for their nation-wide magazine. They are both war veterans working in and with helicopters. We met in Everett and made these!

This is the image I wanted to create for the magazine. Something with Jim looking cool on his motorcycle.

My Dad rode a Harley like this (with a different paint job) both when I was a kid and again when I was in high school.

Toby completely chopped and customized the back of his bike.

A thrilling time of year. Anyone want a rebate?

I was trying something new. Controlled studio lighting with small objects. I haven't really played with this sort of thing since college. For the photogeek inclined: Canon 5D, 50 2.5 Macro, 550EX as accent light from the rear, 550EX in 28x28 softbox camera right and RadioPoppers as trigger.
