Joy and Mike are huge Seattle Seahawks fans. Also, we won the Superbowl this year with style. With that in mind we started the engagement portrait session at Century Link Field, the home of the Seattle Seahawks, Superbowl winners. Yes, those of us from Seattle have been starved for a major championship, so I am repeating "Seattle Seahawks, Superbowl Champions" just a few more times so that everyone gets the point. Beyond the fact that Joy and Mike enjoy watching the Seahawks win, they are a very fun couple that laugh a lot together. After a few images at Century Link Field, we walked around Pioneer Square and Occidental Park. Then we went down to Myrtle Edwards Park and the Olympic Sculpture Park for a nightcap of Sunset portraits.
Joy and Mike's engagement portrait at Century Link Field. I played a little with an HDR effect.
I loved the reflection off of the new building in the north parking lot.
Playing with light and shadow as they walked down the street.

I really liked this image of Joy and Mike as they walked down first avenue. I was playing with light, shadow and lens flare.

Playing with the flash and city lights.
For this last image, I backlit them with the flash.
I love stained glass windows in photos. Especially when they are out of focus. I love the way the colors blend together when they are out of focus. Elizabeth was standing the the Synagogue as I was getting a flash ready for the next image I was taking. I was setting up a flash and this image was taken to get an idea of the ambient exposure I wanted on the stained glass.
This photograph was taken with a 5D Mark III and a 135mm at f2.0. The shutter speed was 1/25 and the ISO was 50. It was taken at Ezra Bessaroth Synagogue in Seattle.
Patty and Stan had a beautiful Willows Lodge wedding. It happened in the fall, but I didn't get around to posting the individual images. You can see the previously posted slideshow here.

Molly and Charles had a beautiful winter day for their Rosehill Community Center wedding. They had originally planned on a summer wedding, but made a quick decision to get married sooner rather than later. A month later they were married! They are an example of a couple that were just ready to be married. They still managed to find a beautiful place and have a wonderful wedding. Slideshow first, then individual images on this post!
Rebel Alliance cuff links. Very cool for the geek in me. I've wanted to join the Rebel Alliance since I was 8. Charles got these from his brother-in-law for being a groomsmen. You can check out Jon and Elaine's wedding here.
