Self Portrait

I’ve been working at being a professional photographer since I was 15. In the 25 years since, I have never truly done a self portrait. I’ve shot myself with my camera a mirror in an elevator going to some hotel room countless times, but not really set up the camera on a tripod, set up lights and taken a true portrait of myself. The reason is pretty simple – I like taking photos of other people better! Anyway, I just got back from my vacation and was itching to shoot something. So, I decided on a bit of a whim to do a self portrait. I pulled on my “artistic” glasses, flopped my new favorite hat on my head (I like hats), and headed for the garage. I set up a studio flash in a softbox on one side and a large silver reflector on the other. The background is just white seamless paper unlit so it comes out grey from the light hitting from the softbox. I set the camera on a tripod and used a lightstand to stand in my place as I focused. Here is the result!
