Seattle Convention Center
The Seattle Convention Center offers an exceptional setting for events of all kinds. The newly opened Summit building is a standout, featuring stunning architecture, sweeping views of downtown Seattle, and expansive glass walls that flood the space with natural light and panoramic cityscapes.
Meanwhile, the original Arch building continues to impress with its timeless design and distinctive features that have aged gracefully. Together, the Summit and Arch buildings provide a wide variety of venues suitable for events of every size—from intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences.
With such a diverse range of spaces, the Seattle Convention Center is truly a premier destination for memorable and dynamic events.
I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the Housing Development Consortium's (HDC) Annual Celebration Luncheon, which took place at the impressive Summit building in the Seattle Convention Center, who is also a client. This event brought together a diverse group of professionals and advocates who are united by a common goal: increasing access to affordable housing in Seattle and the surrounding region.
Butler Seattle produces the Northwest Event Show. They are also a great source of event transportation. This year the show was at the brand-new Summit building at the Seattle Convention Center. There were tons of cool ideas for corporate events such as Dirtfish driving school and Compass Outdoor Adventures. There were a lot of great venues and some really great food, decoration, and entertainment.
Corporate events can be a ton of fun. For this one, I was photographing the West Coast competition for the chefs of Aramark. There were people from convention centers, including Chef Jose from the Seattle Convention Center, stadiums, and national park resorts from Washington, California, and Nevada. The competition was held in the brand-new kitchen at the Seattle Convention Center Summit building.
I had the honor of being the official photographer for the grand opening of the Seattle Convention Center’s new building, Summit. It is truly a spectacular building that has 580,000 square feet of event space. There were three days of events that I covered. The first was the press event and ribbon cutting featuring the state and local politicians that helped to make it happen. It was followed by a hospitality event for all of the industry professionals. The following day the dedication of the ballroom in honor of the long-time president of the board that started working on the convention center in 1982. And finally, on the third day was the public open house with around 5,000 people in attendance. The place is so large, though, that it seemed empty with that many people!
