Mingyu & Brian: A Seattle Municipal Court Wedding & Urban Adventure
It was a pleasure to photograph Mingyu and Brian's Seattle Municipal Court wedding. This couple was a lot of fun to work with, making their day enjoyable to capture. As a Seattle elopement photographer, I appreciate the unique setting a courthouse wedding provides, and Mingyu and Brian's celebration highlighted that well.
Our session began near the Seattle Municipal Court, capturing photos in the downtown environment. For their pre-ceremony portraits, we took a walk towards the Seattle waterfront. We stopped for some photos against a graffiti-covered wall, adding an urban element. The walk was pleasant, leading us to the new Habitat Beach Park – a convenient option for beach photos within walking distance of the courthouse, offering views of the waterfront. It's a beautiful place for couples looking for downtown Seattle wedding photos.
Upon returning to the courthouse for their ceremony, the rooftop deck was quite windy. We decided to move the ceremony to the jury room. This room provided a quiet and expansive space for their vows with massive windows. Judge Chess officiated the ceremony, guiding them through a personal exchange.
Mingyu and Brian's day blended personal moments with classic Seattle urban wedding photography. Their relaxed approach resulted in natural, candid wedding photos that reflected their personalities and the joy of their commitment.
If you're considering a small wedding in Seattle or an alternative wedding venue, a Seattle Municipal Court wedding might be a good choice. It offers a unique background for your event, allowing for portraits around Pioneer Square, along the waterfront, and within the court building itself.
