Capturing the Campus Experience: City University of Seattle
An environmental portrait of a City U graduate student (and instructor) in the field of Computer Security. I set up a teal gelled flash int eh background and another in a softbox.
When City University of Seattle needed updated visual assets for their South Lake Union campus, the objective was clear: capture the genuine energy of their community in a way that felt authentic to their everyday environment.
The shoot covered a wide mix of environmental portraits and collaborative moments between students and faculty. Working throughout the campus building allowed us to leverage natural light across common areas, study spaces, and shared work environments. These situational images highlight the active work culture and day-to-day engagement that marketing agencies and higher education admissions teams look for when building campaign libraries.
For the Computer Science program, we took a different approach to match the setting. Working around the server room and technical spaces, I integrated off-camera flash with dynamic color gels. This added a distinct visual edge to the photographs while keeping the focus squarely on the students and staff collaborating in their element.
The resulting image library gives CityU a flexible set of marketing portraits and situational photos for use across their website, promotional materials, and program guides.
