Capturing the Campus Experience: City University of Seattle

When City University of Seattle needed updated visual assets for their South Lake Union campus, the objective was clear: capture the genuine energy of their community in a way that felt authentic to their everyday environment.

The shoot covered a wide mix of environmental portraits and collaborative moments between students and faculty. Working throughout the campus building allowed us to leverage natural light across common areas, study spaces, and shared work environments. These situational images highlight the active work culture and day-to-day engagement that marketing agencies and higher education admissions teams look for when building campaign libraries.

Branding portraits for a tech CEO

In a little less than an hour, I photographed this CEO in 7 different places with four different lighting setups including up to 3 flash units. I've been told that the speed that I move to create new scenarios along with my explanations of what I'm doing and the stories I tell help my subjects feel more relaxed. So many people dread having their photographs taken, so I try to make it as fun as possible.

Seattle Commercial Photography | Grand Central Bakery

I had the pleasure of spending a day at the production bread baking facility of Grand Central Bakery in Seattle. I was creating storytelling branding images for their media platforms. The image really tell the story of the time and care they take in creating incredible bread.

Seattle Personal Branding Photography | Sarah

I met Sarah downtown for some personal branding photography. Personal branding is new photographer speak for business portraits with a wider range of uses than just a headshot. In the past, I called them environmental portraits, and they are one of my favorite things to shoot. For Sarah, she speaks at conferences and things like that, as well as writing things for people in her industry. We worked on creating portraits of her that mostly made her look fun to go to her speaking engagements.

Seattle Realtor Headshots & Portraits | Mahlet

Mahlet is a realtor in Seattle. I went to her office in the Wallingford neighborhood to create some portraits of her for self-promotion and all the things realtors do. I first set up a studio space and then we walked around the neighborhood! We even did a few with her in her Ethiopian dress. Cool stuff!

Amy is an aspiring photographer. She needed some portraits of herself for her website and social media. It is always a great compliment to me when a photographer I don’t already know chooses me for their photographs! I am a big believer in the power of good portraits in a small business’ marketing campaign.
